Give a One-Time Gift

  •  Make a donation in honour of the anniversary of an important event in your life. Consider making it an annual gesture; involve the family, making it a tradition and create a legacy.
  •  Arrange to have a set amount deducted from your paychecks and re-directed to Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Canada for an agreed period of time.
  • Consider donating a portion of your income tax refund from the previous year.
  • Insert a line in your will leaving a specified amount to ABERC.
  • Official receipts for income tax purposes will be provided for donations totaling at least $20.00.

With Cash

Your cash donations will be accepted at any branch of the Royal Bank of Canada. Please advise the bank’s customer service rep of your intention to donation to Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Canada account. Our transit number is 06402 and the account number is 100 504 0.
Once your donation is complete, please make a copy of both sides of the transaction receipt and mail it to Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Canada, c/o Consulate General of Antigua and Barbuda, 601 – 60 St. Clair Ave. East, Toronto, ON M4T 1N5.
Please ensure that your name, address, date and amount of deposit are clearly visible on the document being sent in and if not please include a note with that information to facilitate the income tax receipt preparation process.

Currently, there are two ways to donate on line to our Charity.
 Donate by using the “Donate” button on any of the pages on our site and work with PayPal.
 Donate via e-Transfer using the facilities offered by the bank of your choosing, naming Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Canada as the recipient.

About Your Donations, Where & How They are used

After Hurricane Irma in 2017, Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Canada purchased and donated tools, supplies and machinery to the Rebuild Barbuda effort valued over $24,000.

In addition, we assisted in the rebuilding of the Barbuda Holy Trinity School by supplying doors, windows, paint, fencing, electrical fittings and other building supplies valued at more than $61,000.

We are committed to providing emergency assistance to Antiguans and Barbudans with the help of our donors. 

Do you guys give cash to residents of Antigua and Barbuda to help with their emergency repairs?

No.  As a Canadian Registered Charity, we are prohibited from making cash donations.

How does your relief organization distribute donated relief supplies to residents in Antigua and Barbuda?

Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Canada is not involved in the distribution of its donations.  Once the shipment arrives in Antigua and has been cleared of all the necessary formalities, our local representative will turn the shipment over to NODS for safe keeping and distribution to local agents and/or individuals as they see fit.

Do you accept donations from persons living outside Canada?

Yes, donations are accepted by e-transfer to Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Canada. 

How can I help Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Canada?

You can sign up to be placed on the volunteer list, and when there is a need you will be notified; You can become a donor, donating anytime you wish or you can contact us at aberc.ca if you have new ideas that you want to share.

How long have you been in existence?

We started as Antigua and Barbuda Hurricane Relief Committee, and became recognized as a Charity with CRA in September of 1989 as Antigua and Barbuda Hurricane Relief Fund and in 2020 became Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Canada.

Do any individuals from Antigua and Barbuda actually control, manage or run your charity?

ABERC is controlled, managed and run by 3 Trustees and 9 Board Members; all of whom are Nationals of Antigua and Barbuda who have migrated to Canada.  In addition, there are several dozens of Nationals and friends on whom we rely to assist us when there is an emergency at home.

Are Canadian residents permitted to send relief supplies to relatives in Antigua and Barbuda through your organization?

All emergency relief supplies sent by ABERC are sent to National Office of Disaster Service, for distribution based on their distribution protocol.
